Prof. Dr. Fernando Santarelli
Degree in economics at the Milan Bocconi University. Teacher of economy at the University of Trieste. For many years, Dr. Santarelli was headmaster of one of the most important State Institutes of Milan. He was awarded with the gold medal by the President of the Italian Republic for merit in the domain of school, culture and art.
Second degree in medicine and surgery at the Milan Università degli Studi, with a thesis on gerontology. Sugbsequently, he dedicated himself to medical research, and in 1992 foundet the "Associazione Italiana Ricerca Prevenzione Terapia dell'Invecchiamento" (AIRPTI - Italian Association for Research, Prevention and Therapy of Ageing).
These outstanding biographical circumstances enabled Dr. Santarelli to combine the knowledge of medical science with a deep experience in economic studies, which led him to integrate both disciplines and study biological phenomena such as ageing, by the aid of a new global Method based on biological Economy (importance of biological economy).
Dr. Santarelli is the author of several scientific articles about ageing in specialized medical journals.
Recently, he published an interesting treatise under the title: "Alla conquista del Tempo dopo la conquista dello Spazio" ("Setting out for the Conquest of Time, after the conquest of Space"). This book, which considers also the latest studies on DNA and the "clonation" experiments, offers an original scientific contribution and a stimulus to the continuous development of scientific research activity about ageing, with the concrete outlook of a possible further increase of the duration of life in good health. This has been at all times one of the greatest aims of Humanity.
